Description
If you’re a fan of aged patchouli you’ll love our Patchouli Vanilla Shea Butter. We’ve added aged Indonesian patchouli to a luscious vanilla from Madagascar. Like a fine wine, patchouli ages well, and if left in a cool, dark space will develop earthy and sweet, amberlike notes growing richer, rounder and deeper over time. Patchouli, with its grounding and relaxing effect on the mind and body, is especially beneficial on dry and irritated skin.
Daily application rejuvinates and restores, and has an remarkable effect on wrinkles, softening and smoothing, easing and erasing signs of stress held in our face and eye area. After a few days of consistent use skin appears noticeably improved. Our Patchouli Vanilla Shea Butter, rich in essential fatty acids, cinnamic acid, and vitamins C, E, and K, heals many types of dry, sensitive skin conditions while providing maximum barrier protection without a heavy feeling or clogging tiny dermal pores. It is especially effective in soothing red/angry skin conditions.
Our Whipped Shea Butters are a combination of luscious and nourishing oils: California grown extra-virgin olive oil, calendula-infused sunflower oil, and a Madagascar vanilla infused coconut oil. These restorative and concentrated butters are prepared by hand in small batches. Over a period of four to six hours we slowly add each oil into the raw unrefined shea butter as it gently and continuously whips. At the end, we add the flower remedy of Self Heal.
Our Shea Butter comes to us from the women of Kpersi Village, a small community in northern Ghana. This remarkable group of women hand-harvest and process the shea nuts into shea butter using labor-intensive, traditional methods that have been handed down over centuries.
This truly unrefined product has been extracted without chemical solvents, cleansers or bleaching agents. As a result small granules may occur, which in no way compromises its quality, and will dissolve instantly when massaged into skin. Variations in color and fragrance may also occur. Unrefined shea butter is high in valuable unsaponifiables, which add emolliency and softness to skin. Vitamin E protects against oxidation, and naturally occuring phytosterols contribute to cell membrane integrity.

Directions for Use
As a daytime moisturizer: Taking a finger-full of Shea Butter warm and soften between the palms of your hand. Massage into area of face or body to be treated. Finish by misting with of one of our Facial Tonic Hydrosols to increase hydration and penetration.
As a Shea Treatment Mask: An alternative to our Clay Treatment Masks, our Whipped Shea Butters make ideal regenerating, nourishing and restorative treatments for dry and/or sensitive skin in need of rebuilding from over-use or over-reliance on harsh glycolic (AHA) treatments, fruit enzymes, or dermabrasions. It is worth noting that ‘natural’ fruit enzymes can weaken the integrity of the epidermal layer resulting in thin, desperately dry and splotchy skin.
How to apply a Shea Mask
Step 1: Warm a small amount of Whipped Shea Butter between the palms of the hands and massage into clean, slightly damp skin. Leave on to fully absorb – at least 15 minutes.
Step 2: Enhance the Shea Butter Treatment by pressing a series (two to three or more) of warm washcloths just against face, allowing the moist warmth of the washcloth to penetrate the Shea Butter into the skin.
Step 3: Finish with a final wipe, removing any remaining Shea Butter off face. Your skin will look and feel exquisitely clean, velvety smooth, and calm.
This treatment helps to restore, protect and strengthen skin structure.
